Participants learn to see life like a writer. We will take a deep dive (as deep we can in 6 sessions) into the nature of creativity, how to find the story in a personal experience, how to create a story from an observation, using writing and creativity exercises to access memories and feelings deep inside — discovering worlds and characters that already exist in us — and bringing them onto the page where they can be nurtured, refined, and craft into a personal story with meaning and purpose.

This class is suitable for all levels.

Steven Fischer is an internationally recognized writer/producer of fiction and non-fiction stories with credits for PBS/MPT, OWN, TV Asia, Canal+ France. He teaches journal writing and creative writing at Northwestern University.
