We will read contemporary poets in order to explore certain elements of poetry: image, sound, the 5 W’s, visual presentation, and time. Students will also write new poems of their own focusing on these elements. Please note: this will be a generative class, with very little time devoted to critique or revision.
Sean Corbin is the Poetry Gauntlet coordinator for the Carnegie Center and has taught with Carnegie for at least seven years. He is one-half of the Milestone Art Collective with his wife, Amanda Kelley Corbin.
