This eight-week series is designed for writers of all levels who want to study the craft of creative nonfiction writing. Class members will write original, true stories, which we will discuss and critique together in a workshop setting. We will also engage with a broad range of contemporary nonfiction writing to look closely at what moves us, why, and how we might use similar techniques to elevate our own writing.

This class is suitable for all levels.

Mallory Donoghue is a writer from Indialantic, FL. She holds an MFA from the University of Kentucky, and was an attendee of the 2025 Bread Loaf Environmental Writers Conference and the 2024 Juniper Summer Writing Institute. Her work has appeared in Fourth Genre.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

The Carnegie Center reserves the right to cancel a class if minimum enrollment is not met. It is best to register early to help our instructors prepare and to ensure the class does not get cancelled. We evaluate registration numbers 6–2 business days before a class starts to decide whether we can hold the class. Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment will be cancelled six–two business days prior to the first class meeting. All participants will be notified by email and will receive full refunds
