Every life contains stories that continue to call for our attention. Some begin in loss. Others in love, unexpected joy, difficult decisions, or life’s turning points. Whatever their origin, these stories shape who we become. This two-session story retreat is an invitation to explore one meaningful story from your life—or perhaps discover the one that has been quietly waiting for your attention. Through guided writing, personal reflection, thoughtful reader response, and practical instruction in the craft of storytelling, you’ll discover not only what changed your life, but what that change has come to mean.

This retreat is designed for those who want to discover the heart of a story and shape it through reflection and writing. Together, we’ll explore where the story truly begins, what belongs, what can be left unsaid, and how to shape experience into writing that allows another person to better understand. Our goal is not perfection. Our goal is to discover the truest version of the story you wish to tell. Whether you write for yourself, your family, or with hopes of someday publishing, you’ll leave with a story that speaks with greater clarity, honesty, and purpose. More importantly, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the stories that have shaped you and the confidence to recognize the ones still waiting to be told.

No previous writing experience is necessary. Previous participants in Bearing Witness, Integrating Loss into Your Life Story are warmly welcomed. This retreat is designed as a stand-alone experience and is open to anyone who feels called to tell a story that matters.

You will leave with:
-a story that expresses your truth
-a practical framework for finding and developing stories that matter to you
-great clarity about your life-shaping stories and the confidence to know those that remain to be written
