William “Bill” McCann is an award winning playwright, a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, the author of Yearnings: A Memoir in Prose & Poetry (Cyberwit.net) and two chapbooks of flash fiction based on Bible Stories. His first chapbook, The New Adventures of Jesus (Finishing Line Press, 2023) was nominated for the 2025 Grawemeyer Award in Religion. And in 2026 his play “Which Side Are You On? A One-Act Play with Music” won both the Frostburg State University’s International One-Act Play Contest as well as the Kentucky Theatre Association’s Roots of the Bluegrass New Play Contest. Additionally, his full-length play Bada Bing Bada Boom won third place in the full-length category. Since 2014 Mr. McCann has been a playwright mentor. He holds an MFA from Eastern Kentucky University and an MA (theatre) from the University of Kentucky. He is an adjunct instructor at EKU teaching composition courses. He lives in Winchester with his wife Jeanine Lister, a dog and three cats
