About Me
Liam McAllister, an adoptive Lexingtonian, first worked with the Carnegie Center in July 2024 as a Camp Carnegie Coordinator and returned shortly thereafter as Program and Registrar Associate. With a professional background in tutoring and instruction, Liam is excited to help advance literacy education in the city they call home.
Liam recently earned their M.A. in Geography and a graduate certificate in Gender and Women's Studies from the University of Kentucky. Their scholarly work centers around affect theory, queer Kentucky, and geographies of belonging, with an emphasis on transgender life in Louisville. You can find Liam in their free time crocheting, writing poetry, taking walks at the arboretum, and pampering their cat, Reggie.
