Online classes:
The building remains closed to the public until further notice, but as part of our move to #CarnegieFromYourCouch, we are excited to announce online classes! Please call 859-254-4175, ext. 21 or email info@carnegiecenterlex.org for the most up-to-date information on our operating hours. Many of our spring classes for adults, including your favorite writing mainstays like Fiction and Nonfiction Writing Groups, will be offered online via Zoom.
Please note: Kids classes are being offered via Zoom, as well.
Free weekly content:
If you use social media, please stay tuned to our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts, where we are putting together some free resources and programming to keep us all connected in the meantime.
If You’re Already Registered for Spring Classes at the Carnegie Center:
We must meet our enrollment minimum to offer each class, so we want to be sure you are still on board to meet virtually. If you are no longer interested, or not able to attend virtually, of course we understand and will give you a full refund.
If you decide to continue with your class online—and we hope you do—we will send instructions on how to use Zoom. We are even providing open Zoom ‘meetings’ next week for our students to try out. We want to make sure it works for you and that you are comfortable learning on this new platform before your first day of class. On the day of your class, tech support will be offered by a Carnegie staff person in case you have trouble connecting with the instructor. The good news is you can do this all from your couch!
Our Program Director Sarah Chapman will be in touch to confirm your interest in virtual classes. Your reply is imperative to the success of our programming and will help the Carnegie Center immensely as we figure out how best to serve our community during such an uncertain and trying time. We are committed to our community and we are excited to share this new way of learning virtually, yet still together. Until we can meet again in the classroom—and we believe we will—we hope to see you on your screen.
