SUMMARY:Crossing the Line: Increasing Poetic Impact with Lineation with Jay McCoy
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, participants will consider the powerful poetic device of lineation in some of its various forms – specifically line length\, enjambment\, and end stops. By reviewing and discussing examples and trying out different techniques\, participants will explore how a poet’s conscious decision on how to move from line to line can impact a poem’s rhythm\, meaning\, and overall effect. Since lineation generally does not have hard and fast rules\, poets must decide how and when to break or end a line intentionally and effectively. The workshop will conclude with timed prompts for participants to try out discussed techniques with an opportunity to share.   \nClick Link to Register through Accents Publishing \nThursday\, September 25\, 6:00–8:00 PM • $40

SUMMARY:Tethered - July Gallery Hop
DESCRIPTION:July 18\, 5-8 pm—Gallery Hop \nTethered brings together six diverse artists exploring the intricate ties that can shape\, ensnare\, or hold us. Through painting\, linocut print\, resin collage\, 3-D mobile\, photography\, and other mediums\, the exhibition traces these delicate and sometimes tangled threads of connection: those we choose with love\, those placed upon us by society\, and those passed down through generations. Tethered invites viewers to consider how these visible and invisible bonds mold our identities\, challenge our autonomy\, and ultimately bind us (gently or tightly) to one another. \n  \nTo volunteer at this event\, please visit: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4EABA72BA6FDC61-54742256-gallery#/
