Spirit Writing – Fall 2024
ONLINE: Spirit Writing found me at a time in my life where I was looking for ritual in my creative life. While doing some academic research on Lucille Clifton, I came across information regarding her practice of “spirit writing.” It is called by other names: automatic writing, or somatic writing, but the important distinction was Clifton’s use of this type of writing in such a way that the spiritual and creative practices became one. I wanted to be able to use this in my own practice as being able to cultivate a writing practice that honored both my spirituality and creativity. In this workshop, people will learn about the process of Spirit Writing, how to engage with it, and how it can be used in the creative process. No prior experience required.
This class is suitable for all levels.
