Spanish Level 1 – Fall 2021

Students will learn basic Spanish grammar, vocabulary, common expressions, greetings, survival phrases, and some discussion of cultural aspects in Spanish-speaking countries. Open to beginners and students who would like to refresh their knowledge of basic Spanish. The goal is to complete the first 5 units from the textbook during class.

Required text: Spanish Now! Level 1: with Online Audio (Barron’s Foreign Language Guides), Silverstein, Ruth J. Please purchase on your own.

Dr. Maria Gomez is a public health researcher and expert advisor in community health, and she has taught a variety of Spanish courses at the college and community levels.

Please note: Since our Fall catalog was printed, Kentucky’s number of  COVID-19 cases has grown exponentially. Therefore the Center decided to start all early-to-mid September classes online for the safety and health of our community. Spanish language classes will meet online via Zoom.
