Script Writing & Performance – Fall 2022

GRADES 6– 7: In this class, students will find their writer’s voice and create many more voices and characters. We will write monologues, dialogues, and short scripts. Students will perform their own work for the class and take on parts in short plays written by other students. Shy students might be inspired to perform or will be proud of writing scripts for others to perform. If all goes well, we will stage our work for parents on the last day of class.

Carole Johnston is a poet, former school library media specialist for grades K–8, and former creative writing instructor for the SCAPA program at Lafayette High School.

Cancellation Policy:

The Carnegie Center reserves the right to cancel a class if minimum enrollment is not met. It is best to register early to help our instructors prepare and to ensure the class does not get cancelled. We evaluate registration numbers between 6 and 2 business days before a class starts to decide whether we can hold the class. Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment may be cancelled a minimum of two business days prior to the first class meeting. All participants will be notified by email and will receive full refunds.
