Painting With Words: An Introduction to Writing Poetry – Summer 2023

With the rise of the popularity of poetry, this workshop will discuss the basics of how to write a poem. Not just how to write, but how to dig deep to find the language necessary to “paint” the world as we see it. We’ll use a series of prompts to exercise various writing techniques. This class is geared toward those who are interested in “Poetry Out Loud” or curious about the artform of poetry.

Kenneth Woods has taught 11 workshops in 9 different schools, as well as through the Indiana Authors Awards Writers Workshop Program. [GRADES 7-12]
