Making the Familiar Magical – Spring 2021

Learn how to include folkore, imagery, local culture and flavor in your fictional world-building. We will discuss how diverse yet critical aspects—from weather to religion, cultural norms to current societal shifts—can be applied to your fiction to make your work come alive. Especially since COVID has made
our worlds smaller, it’s a good time to take what we know and imagine it in a new reality. Elizabeth Kilcoyne is a YA author from Lexington, whose first novel, Wake the Bones, will be published by Wednesday Books in summer of 2022. For all levels.
