Iced Out! Poems of Rejection, Angst, & Isolation – Winter 2022

Facing down yet another frozen pandemic season can be a scary thought. With this course, we will explore poems written in fear but focus on work and poets that spark heat, fire, and the burn of flat-out anger to get us through a lonesome winter. We will explore poets based in Appalachia as well as poetry across genres and history. We will also work on perfecting our own anger and getting it all out via verse. Join us! Get mad and let’s make it poetic! For all levels.

Misty Skaggs is an author, artist, and activist from the backwoods of Eastern Kentucky and her work reflects radical redneck sensibilities passed down through Appalachian generations.
