Go for Flow- Organizing Your Collection of Essays or Memoir- Summer 2022
Writers of personal essay and short memoir pieces often wonder how to organize disparate stories in a collection. In this workshop, participants will learn strategies to identify common themes and styles among their memoirs and personal essays. We’ll discuss and practice ways to enhance connections and transitions between chapters and sections. Participants will leave with an organizational plan and techniques for creating a flow that will entice readers.
Kimberly Garts Crum has her MFA in Writing from Spalding University, where she taught literature and writing to undergraduates for ten years. She has taught personal essays and memoir via her business, Shape & Flow Writing Instruction, at Mellwood Arts Center in Louisville.
