From Personal Experience to Personal Essay – Summer 2020

Living through a pandemic brings challenges that distract us from writing. Yet getting our experiences and reflections onto the page helps us process a difficult time, and document a significant historical era. This class will walk you through writing a short personal essay about what these weeks and months have been like for you. We’ll discuss specific, concrete approaches to writing about our experience, share notes and ideas for the material we want to explore, and then share the work we generate. Susan Christerson Brown, whose essays have appeared in various journals and anthologies, is a certified Enneagram Professional and a mentor in the Carnegie Center Author Academy. For all levels.
