Finding the Poem – Fall 2023

Reading fine poetry often sparks new poems of your own. Find inspiration for new poems and revise old ones. Gain feedback on your work from kindred spirits who enjoy reading, writing, and responding to poetry. We will read selections from Wendell Berry, Elizabeth Bishop, Lucille Clifton, Langston Hughes, and Galway Kinnell. The only requirement for this class is a love of poetry.

Barbara Alfaro is a Carnegie Center Author Academy mentor and the award-winning author of Mirror Talk, a memoir; Theatre Mad, a collection of comedies; and Catbird, a book of poems.

This class is suitable for all levels.
