Back Into the Depths: Generating Poetry Cycles – Winter 2022

Sometimes one poem isn’t enough to fully explore the poet’s ideas and intentions. In this course, participants will examine the multitude of ways in which separate poems can be connected to create an organic whole, from repeated images and phrases, to different points of view, to thematic similarities. Work from Donald Hall, Frank X Walker, Terrance Hayes, and Rebecca Howell will be featured, just to name a few. For all levels.

Sean L. Corbin is the author of The Leper Dreams of Snow (Finishing Line, 2018), the co-founder of the Milestone Art Collective, and a graduate of the University of Kentucky M.F.A. in Creative Writing program.
