In this class, we’ll explore how to research for information about your ancestors, using many online resources, as well as more practical, boots-on-the-ground research. We’ll look at some examples of published writing, and work towards developing a voice that can tell your ancestors’ stories.
Sean Patrick Hill is a poet, nonfiction writer, and teacher with an MFA from the Warren Wilson College Program for Writers, and is currently at work on a book about his own ancestry.
This class is suitable for writers of all levels.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
The Carnegie Center reserves the right to cancel a class if minimum enrollment is not met. It is best to register early to help our instructors prepare and to ensure the class does not get cancelled. We evaluate registration numbers 6–2 business days before a class starts to decide whether we can hold the class. Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment will be cancelled six–two business days prior to the first class meeting. All participants will be notified by email and will receive full refunds.
