Join us for a celebration of reading! Children will play games and create crafts focused on the theme of the book. At least one parent or guardian should accompany each child. The following books will be highlighted: Snowballs (January); If I Were President (February); It’s Spring (March); Rain (April); Full House (May). The first 15 pre-registered families will each bring home a copy of the book! Funded by PNC Bank.
Story-Telling to Story-Writing with Young Minds

You’ll explore literature in the different forms as foundations are being set for a love in writing, storytelling and the performing arts. Throughout the weeks, you and your child will perform oral literature through impromptu dramatic performances and readings. We will create works ourselves. We’ll discover the
process of falling in love with story-writing and fostering growing creativity in children. Limit: 12 families.

You’re invited to this free informative meeting about how you can help your student prepare for life after high school! James Hardin from Fayette County Public Schools will present and tell you about a very helpful tool to use as you start to think about 2 year college, 4 year college, or vocational training. Features include finding careers that match student skills and interests; creating education plans; creating and maintaining resumes; and exploring college and post-secondary options. Don’t miss this opportunity to be ‘“in the know” and help your student! Space is limited, so sign up early.
SUMMER TUTORING
The one-on-one summer tutoring program is for students in grades
K-12. Students in the program work with their own volunteer tutor
for one hour per week in math, reading, and/or ESL. Families should
be prepared to commit to the tutoring program for the full summer.
Cost: $10; $5 for students on free/reduced lunch. Limited space is
available, and spots fill quickly! Call to register on May 1 at 9:00 am.
