Registering Your Student

The Carnegie Center’s Tutoring Program serves students in K-12. Students are expected to meet with their tutor for one hour per week from September through May (after-school tutoring program) or June through July (summer tutoring program).

Typically, we tutor in reading, writing and math. We may be able to offer tutoring in other subjects, but because we rely on volunteer tutors, we may not have expertise in all subjects.

All families are welcome, regardless of income level. The annual, non-refundable registration fee for the September-May period is $60; if the student is on free or reduced lunch in his/her school, the annual, non-refundable registration fee is $5. After the registration fee is paid, all tutoring sessions are free.

The annual, non-refundable registration fee for the June-July period is $35; if the student is on free or reduced lunch in his/her school, the annual, non-refundable registration fee is $5. After the registration fee is paid, all tutoring sessions are free.

Each year, we offer a limited window of time for the lottery registration. Space is limited in the program. You must enter the lottery during the specified times to be considered for placement. To find out when the next registration period is, contact tutoring coordinator Carol Jordan at 859-254-4175, ext.22 or tutoring@carnegiecenterlex.org.

Note to returning students: You must register too! Contact Carol Jordan at 859-254-4175, ext.22 or tutoring@carnegiecenterlex.org for more details.
