The Jesse Stuart Foundation and the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning are proud to invite you to the launch of James B. Goode’s newly released book, Kentucky’s Literary Landscape, on Wednesday, August 23 at 6:00 pm. Goode will discuss “The Art of Separating Truth and Myth in Biography.”

Kentucky’s Literary Landscape: The Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame 2013-2017 is a celebration of the first five years of the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame and features all twenty-nine inductees. This publication, just released by the Jesse Stuart Foundation Press, includes well-researched biographies and inclusive bibliographies of all their major works. This book functions on many levels—as a unique research tool, for the information contained here exists nowhere else in one place. Each biography and bibliographic entry has been thoroughly cross-authenticated by multiple reliable sources. It also serves as an excellent reading list for those interested in expanding their knowledge of Kentucky in American letters, gives one a personal look at the geography of Kentucky writing, presents personal histories of its writers, discusses their place in American literary history, and puts a unique list in the hands of Kentucky book collectors. Forward written by Neil Chethik.

Copies of the book will be available to purchase at the event, and both Goode and Chethik will be signing.

This event is free and open to the public.
