¡Hola! My name is Lucía and I am originally from Miami, FL. I am Puerto Rican and Dominican and I have been teaching Spanish for 9 years. I enjoy teaching and showing my students the diversity of the Spanish language and culture through conversation, reading and writing. When I am not teaching I enjoy reading, taking long walks in nature, drinking a good café, salsa dancing and spending time with friends. I have been living in Kentucky for three years and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Spanish literature.
With LucÍa Montás.
Students will use authentic materials, including videos, readings, and music, to speak, read, write, and listen. Some goals include describing how Lexington compares to Spanish-speaking communities, talking about celebrations in the United States and around the world, using the past tense to talk about one’s childhood, describing famous art from Spanish-speaking cultures, and debating issues.
