Will Lavender

Will Lavender is the New York Times bestselling author of the thrillers Obedience (Crown) and Dominance (Simon & Schuster). His books have been translated into 12 languages and have been international bestsellers. A former college writing instructor, he works for Kentucky’s Legislative Research Commission and lives in Louisville with his wife and two children. This class will explore how point of view can best be used to ceate a deeper, more satisfying reading experience. We will go over the basics of POV, including all the most common usages in modern commercial fiction, as well as more intricate perspective shifts that writers an use to more thouroughly immerse the reader. Concepts covered will be varied and will include narrative devices such as limited perspective, omniscient scope, rarely-used perspectives (second person, etc.), and the unreliable narrator.
