Email chains, contracts, shopping lists, and word problems. Possible storytelling forms are not limited to traditional narrative. This class is designed to help students recognize the potential for storytelling in all its contemporary varieties. We will examine nontraditional structures using examples from writers of contemporary fiction and use a writing prompt to help us discover new forms of expression. Led by Jason Hill, whose short story “Alex Gehry Changed His Status to Single,” told as a series of comments on a Facebook post, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. [ALL LEVELS] [ONE-TIME] [NEW!]
