Bookmaking 101

Susan Bradish

I am a former veterinarian turned artist, with special interests in book arts, printmaking and metalsmithing.  I hold a BFA from Eastern Kentucky University.  I like using a variety of materials in my work, especially things I find in nature and things I have collected over years of travel.  Handmade books are fascinating because they can be made in many shapes, sizes and forms.  One design can lead to variations and soon you have a whole family of book designs, each unique but always linking us to traditional arts and crafts of the past.
